4. How we receive personal data
We may receive personal data directly from you, from the organisation you represent, from another person involved in a project or business relationship, or from professional directories, company websites and other publicly available business sources.
5. How and why we use personal data
We use personal data to respond to enquiries, assess whether our services may be appropriate, prepare proposals and contracts, provide and manage our services, communicate with clients and their representatives, maintain business and financial records, comply with legal obligations, protect our legal rights and send relevant professional communications where permitted by law.
We rely on one or more of the following legal bases: taking steps before entering into a contract; performing a contract; complying with a legal obligation; our legitimate interests in operating, protecting and developing our business; and consent where specifically required.
You may object at any time to receiving marketing or promotional communications.

We share personal data only where necessary. Where our services include introducing a producer to importers, distributors, buyers or other trade contacts in the United Kingdom, we share the business contact details needed for that introduction.
We do not sell personal data.
7. International transfers
Some technology providers may process personal data outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, we use providers and contractual arrangements intended to provide an appropriate level of protection in accordance with applicable data-protection law.
8. How long we retain personal data
- Contractual, administrative and financial records are retained for the periods required by applicable law or reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
- Information relating to a contact who does not become a client is normally retained for no longer than 24 months after the last meaningful contact.
- Records of objections to marketing communications may be retained for as long as necessary to ensure that the objection continues to be respected.
Information may be retained for longer where required by law or in connection with an actual or potential legal dispute.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or disclosure. Access is limited to those who require the information for legitimate business purposes.
10. Your rights
Depending on the applicable law and the circumstances, you may have the right to request access to, correction or deletion of your personal data; request restriction of processing; object to processing; request the transfer of certain data; and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
